Welcome back to everyone! We are very excited to welcome old and new back to Maryborough National School and we are very excited for the year ahead. September has been a busy month and we have already started lots of exciting things across the school. Here’s what we’ve been up to!
Friday 14th September we raised our second Green Flag. This is the Energy flag. We worked very hard over the last two years to fulfill the criteria to be awarded the flag. To celebrate, the whole school wore green and we had some yummy ice-cream too! We are now beginning work on our 3rd Green Flag. The theme is water.
It’s been a busy month in the area of sport too! The whole school have commenced gymnastics lessons with external coaches. This will continue until the Halloween Break and the children really enjoy it! Watch this space for photos of us in action! 5th and 6th class along with their coach Mrs. Meade have entered into the Cumann na mBunscol Gaelic Football league. The Parents’ Association kindly bought us a set of jerseys and we had our first match on Friday 21st of September. We scored an amazing 4 goals and 4 points. Mrs. Meade,Ms. Dunphy and the rest of the school are beaming with pride. The competition will run for the until the Halloween break.
