Cumann na mBunscol Final!!!!
A HUGE well done to the girls in 5th and 6th Class for reaching the Cumann na mBunscol Roinn 4 Final I’m O Moore Park. The girls played exceptionally well on the day and they really enjoyed the participation of the Cumann na mBunscol league! Well done girls. We are so proud of you all!
Lego Showcase.
Our 1st class, 2nd class, 5th class, and 6th class have been taking part in a Lego hour once a week since September. Each week they were given a theme that linked with what they were working on in the classroom and they had to create something using the Lego based on that theme!
Miss Fitzgerald and Miss Grant were amazed and proud of what their classes produced and they thought it would be a good idea to show the rest of the school their hard work. The children were given the theme of Halloween and they had to create a haunted house/house to show the school. They worked very hard in their groups and were delighted at assembly on Friday to show their creations!
Each group had a chance to explain what they made and answer a few questions based on it. The 5th and 6th class were very patient and helpful with the 1st and 2nd class as they wrote their script and helped them to read it.
It was a fantastic few weeks of creativity and fun!

Sports Day 2023
A very enjoyable sports day took place on the campus this week. Each class participated in three races; sprints, potato and spoon race and sack race. There was lots of laughing and falling down. We then had a parents race and a spontaneous teachers race which was very enjoyable for all… A huge thank you to Ms Gow for organising the events on the day. Also, a thank you to Ms Buggie and her wellbeing committee who organised a bouncy castle and an ice-cream van. Take a look at some of the shots taken on the day.
Buddy Reading!!
Buddy Reading
Ms Handcock’s and Ms Fitzgerald’s classes started buddy reading back in January. It is a great opportunity to introduce new vocabulary to the infants and to practice their reading. It gives the senior room the opportunity to be leaders and helpers among the junior classes. It helps to keep them connected and the junior room really enjoy having the “big kids” help them with their reading. Have a look below at some of the fabulous reading happening.
Friendship Week in 1st and 2nd Class
1st and 2nd Class had great fun during Friendship Week, playing with 5th and 6th Class and building on friendships within their class. We learned what it means to be a good friend and enjoyed sharing our favourite toys from home with our classmates. Every child in the school contributed to our beautiful friendship display.

On Wednesday 25th of January, 5th Class got the opportunity to go Tree Planting. This initiative was led by the lovely Meabh who is working with the two other schools on the campus- Educate Together and Gaelscoil to plant 200 Trees in our woodland area. The children will return another day with Maeve for the mulching! The children really enjoyed themselves and learned all about different types of trees! They look forward to seeing them grow over the next year! Well done 5th Class!
