We had a very exciting and busy month in November in Maryborough National School. On Thursday, 8th November we had a visit from Beth Murphy. Beth completed a Willow Workshop with the boys in girls in 5th and 6th class. This workshop was kindly organised by Ms. Gow and it was in association with the ‘Heritage in Schools Scheme.’ She began with a powerpoint presentation explaining the properties of willow and the various ways in which it can be used.
The children then had the wonderful opportunity to craft their own trees from willow. It was an extremely successful workshop which was enjoyed by all. We look forward to welcoming Beth again in the future. Take a look at some pictures from the day!

During the month of November the whole scool participated in Science Week which was kindly organised by Miss. Fitzgerald. Throughout the week, each class participated in a different science experiment and then demonstrated the science experiment in front of the whole school at a assembly on the Friday of Science Week. It was a fantastic success and we most certainly have some budding scientists amongst the pupils in Maryborough National School! Take a look at some of the pictures from the week! It really was an enjoyable experience and we are already looking forward to next year!
