Maryborough NS get Litter-Picking!

A ‘Clean Up’ Initiative was launched on Thursday 25th of March across all of the school campus here in Summerhill, between Maryborough NS, Educate Together and The Gaelscoil with the support of Laois County Council. Litter became problematic when we returned to school after previous school closures. We really wanted to clean up our school and have it looking fabulous for the Summer. 4th to 6th Class helped during this clean up. We followed all of the Covid-19 guidelines by doubling up on disposable gloves, sanitising litter-pickers and going out litter-picking in our pods. The children contributed magnificently to the clean up around our school and we thank them for their energy and concern to keep our school clean in the future! A huge thank you to Laois County Council for providing gloves, bags, litter-pickers and collection of waste to support this. A huge thank you to all of the parents who supplied litter-pickers, gloves and bags for the clean up. It is much appreciated! Have a look at our school-it is spotless! Let’s keep it this way! Check out the children in litter-picking action!!!
