September ended fabulously with fantastic work achieved by all of the pupils. I think it is fair to say we are back into routine now! As the days feel shorter and the evenings get darker quicker, we stop for a moment to be mindful of the few glimmers of light that represent hope and happiness every new day in school. We are all thankful of those bright moments throughout the day.
Junior Infants are well settled into school now. The Junior Infants performed the song ‘Our God is a Great Big God’ accompanied by actions as they took to the stage with the support of the wonderful Senior Infants at Assembly to perform for the rest of the school. They were super! Well done Junior Infants.
5th and 6th Class are knee deep in their Climate Change Workshops. Declan from Midland’s Science zooms 5th and 6th Class every second Thursday to teach them all about Climate Change. 5th and 6th Class have been very busy designing and researching about Electric Cars and the future of Electric Cars around the world. They will present these projects via Zoom to Declan in the coming weeks! Well done 5th and 6th Class.
In Maryborough NS-we have the most beautiful garden. Mr Hickey and Ms Gow are extremely talented in maintaining our beautiful garden. Ms Gow has set up a Parent Gardening Group which is being co-ordinated with Annette and Kenneth who are parents in our school. Parents are more than welcome to join this group at any time. The group named ‘Maryborough Tidy Up Team’ meet on the first Tuesday of every month at 2:45pm where they will work together to clean up and maintain our beautiful surrounds in Maryborough NS. There is also a free cuppa going for a social treat if you are interested! All parents/relatives/friends of the school are more than welcome to help out!
As we all embark on our Mid-term break in the coming weeks, we pause for a moment. We relish on all that we have learned over the past few weeks in school, at assemblies and at home. We are thankful to have these opportunities to learn and we look forward to a pause on our schooling as we embrace a restful period ahead-and eat lots of sweets of course!Have a safe, mindful and restful Halloween break!
