Climate Change Workshops with Midlands Science!
5th and 6th Class have been chosen to take part in an 8 week programme of Climate Change workshops with Declan as part of the Green Schools. These workshops are facilitated over Zoom! The children learned all about the importance of how to protect the environment and what climate change actually is-‘We can’t do it alone’, ‘We must do it together!’ This week the children will be busy designing projects about ‘Electric Cars and the Environment’ to present to Declan in 2 weeks time! Watch this space for what they produce…..I have a feeling its going to be an interesting one! Even Miss Fitzgerald learned one or two things during this workshop today! Cheers Declan!
FREE TIME IS BACK!!!!!
5th and 6th Class have settled wonderfully back in school. They have worked extremely hard in their first week back!
A reward for their hard work all week results in FREE TIME on the green field which is a fantastic facility for our campus!
The children engaged in sports, obstacle courses or just a chilled chat!

Bike Skills in School!
On Wednesday the 8th of September the children took part in a Low Carbon Cycling Initiative as part of Laois County Council and Green Schools. Karen and Lorraine took the children out on their bikes and taught them some valuable bike skills. They cycled around the campus and learned about the safety of cycling. The children had an absolute blast and an increase of interest in cycling has developed! Whoohoo !! Check out some of the children as they got into gear!!!! We are hoping to facilitate these skills again in the coming weeks! Watch this space….
