Willow Project

Yesterday Ms Gow welcomed back artist, Beth Murphy for a second workshop on our Willow  Project. This was run in as part of the Heritage in Schools scheme. This was a follow up to the inspirational day she spent with us in term 1 when the pupils learned not only about one of our ancient crafts of willow weaving but also reinforced SESE awareness of biodiversity, sustainability and how we interact with nature around us. Through cooperative teamwork, the pupils worked together to create a beautiful willow dome and bird feeder. The willow dome will become a center piece for what we hope will become our school garden. A fun day was had by all involved and  the sun even shone for us!

Check out all the lovely smiles and the great work being done!
