Our Harvest Rap!
5th and 6th Class performed their Harvest Rap for Assembly. They really enjoyed learning about Harvest in school and their showcase was fantastic!

Lego Creations in 5th and 6th Class!
5th and 6th Class had the pleasure of engaging in lego creations of protecting bees, learning about wildflowers and the important concept of Bio Diversity. Thank you Jessica for a fun filled lesson. The children learned so much and had great fun too!
5th Class have fun leaves finding!
5th Class engaged in a leaves investigation and learned all about trees in outdoor activities as part of the Green Schools Initiative. They learned lots and really enjoyed their time in nature! This activity integrated into their Art lesson this week where they made their own leaves out of Clay. Well done 5th Class.



Maryborough’s Girl’s Football Team
Meet the girl’s football team for this years Cumann na mBunscol League. The girls have been busy training and learning new skills involved in GAA Football. They are enjoying playing their matches and we are so proud of them! Well done girls!

Board Games in the Senior Room!
5th and 6th Class got an opportunity to play board games with their friends on Friday. They had a wide variety of games to choose from. They learned how to play new board games for the first time, learn to take turns, practise their social skills and work on their oral language.
They had so much fun! Check out all their happy faces!

Say Yes to Languages with Aurelie!
5th and 6th Class have had a wonderful opportunity to learn French through the Say Yes to Languages Programme. They have learned so much which will benefit them moving forward into secondary school and deciding on language subjects!
We would like to thank our French Tutor Aurelie for all her wonderful lessons over the last few weeks.

FAI Blitz!!
Well done to the Boys A soccer team on making it to the FAI Laois Finals in Killeshin FC on Wednesday 10th April. The boys played three games back-to-back, there was some tough competition but we held our own. Unfortunately, the results didn’t favour us but the boys played their hearts out. Well, done to all involved!!!

Playground Leaders
As part of the Active Schools Flag and working towards our Active Flag we have implemented our Playground Leaders. Twice a week 5th and 6th class set up active stations on the yard during the junior end lunchtime. Pupils enjoy this as they get to interact with others and they can also learn from one another. Our stations are chosen by the Active Flag Committee, some of our stations have included: skipping, racing, over/under ball game, red light green light, duck duck goose, hoop throws and many more. Take a look at the huge smiles during Playground Leaders time…
6th Class Fundraiser and Green Day!!!
On Friday the 15th of March, 6th Class hosted a fundraiser for their end of year hoodies. They provided a cake sale, hair and nails, art stalls, tea and coffee, fun stations, raffle and SO MUCH MORE!!!!! The whole school had a brilliant day attending the fundraiser!
A special thank you to all staff, parents and pupils on the day for your donations and support!
We are looking forward to working with Shaws, Portlaoise for our hoodies!
