School News – December 2021

November has been a very busy month in Maryborough NS. All classes have been working extremely hard in the run up to Christmas.

Each class have been rehearsing endlessly for our upcoming show ‘Lights, Camel Action 1” Each class will perform a scene from the play with 6th Class taking the lead characters! There will be lots of singing, dancing and acting to be performed-watch this space! The play is about different characters from the Bible Story ‘The Nativity’ who audition at a talent show. We even have Mary and Joseph singing the duet ‘Shallow’ and much much more! We are hoping to perform the Christmas Play in some regard here on the last few days before the holidays. We may have to record it and send out a link online-however either way everyone will see the wonderful talent in Maryborough NS!

3rd and 4th Class have excelled their musical talents with their tin whistle. They have learned how to play ‘Happy Birthday’ on the tin whistle which is great for our Assembly on a Friday where we wish ‘Happy Birthday’ to our pupils. Well done 3rd and 4th Class. Keep up this fantastic musical momentum!

5th and 6th Class have completed some fantastic ‘Winter’ Art which is displayed in the school hallways. If you are ever in the school-take a look at the wonderful artistic talents in our school. 5th and 6th Class will get creative with some clay in the next couple of weeks where they will design a Christmas decoration for their Christmas Tree. We are all looking forward to that! 5th and 6th Class have been given the opportunity to take part in three sessions with Heritage Schools where they will be identifying the plants and animal life around the school campus and how to look after the ecosystems for them. We hope to investigate the river that flows through the campus and see could we generate awareness to clean it up and save the plants and animals that may live there!

A HUGE thank you to all of the Parents who sent in Christmas Shoe Boxes for ‘The Christmas Shoebox Appeal.’ We collected a total of thirty boxes which were collected at the school. Thank you very much.

A HUGE thank you to the Parent’s Association who are organising the School Calendar again this year. We hope to have the school calendars on sale from the school office shortly.

We all look forward to the wonderful activities, Christmas Play and treats that we will experience in December in school and we will be grateful for all that we receive. We would like to take the opportunity to wish all the children, families, staff and friends of Maryborough NS a peaceful and safe Christmas with family and loved ones.

See you all in 2022! Happy Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
