School News –June 2022
May was a very busy month with an array of activities. We have many coaches coming into our school for the month of June. We have GAA, Hockey and Rugby coaching for the children. The children are really looking forward to this and we hope the sun stays shining!
On Friday 13th of April, 6th Class held a FUN DAY to fundraise money for their graduation hoodies. They had many services available such as a cake sale, beauty salon, art gallery, raffle, guess how many sweets are in the jar and guess the amount of balloons in the electric car. The day was a HUGE success. A big thank you to all the parents who donated on the day and the children for purchasing on the day. The hoodies are in progress and should be with the children in the coming weeks. A big thank you to Shaw’s Department Stores for organising the hoodies for us. We are so proud of the 6th Class here in Maryborough and we certainly have some future entrepreneurs here!
On Friday 27th of March, Junior Infants to 2nd Class took their first trip to the Park. Rev. Alec went along with them and they had a great day. Long may the weather last so that the children can have more trips to the park! Thank you Alec for coming along with us.
3rd and 4th Class have been transitioning into the most fabulous musicians- learning the songs Ode to Joy-Beethoven, You’ll Never Walk Alone and The Turkish March by Mozart on the tin whistle and recorder. We are so proud of the musicians you have become this year!
We would like to acknowledge some 5th and 6th Class pupils who made their confirmation recently and we hope they all had a lovely and peaceful day with their family and friends.
June is a very exciting month in Maryborough NS-we have coaching, school tours and sports day ahead of us and the children are all bursting with excitement for the days and activities ahead.
We would like to thank all parents and friends of the school for supporting the children and staff over the last few months. We are very grateful.
We wish our current 6th Class all the happiness and success as they transition into secondary school and we are very proud of their achievements in Maryborough NS and we feel very lucky to have had them in our school for the past 8 years.
We wish all the families and friends of Maryborough a peaceful, happy and safe summer and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the next school year.
