1st and 2nd Class have been hunting for minibeasts in the school garden.
As part of Science and English, we have been learning all about minibeasts. We explored different areas of our beautiful school garden and found lots of different creatures. We also checked in on our bean plants and are delighted to report that flowers have appeared on them and they are growing tall!
1st and 2nd Class GAA Skills
1st and 2nd Class have been perfecting their GAA skills over the last few weeks. They have been mastering skills in both football and hurling and having fun playing outside in the beautiful sunshine. Thanks to the coaches, Shane and Eoghan, for their time and dedication.
Grandparent’s Day
We had a fantastic day in Maryborough National School when our grandparents and parents came to visit. The boys and girls had lots of questions for the grandparents who visited our room, about their lives as children and what school was like. We would like to offer a great big thank you to the grandparents for coming in to visit and we hope you will come back again soon.
1st and 2nd Class Maths Fun
We have been having lots of fun during Maths Stations in 1st and 2nd Class – weighing, measuring, playing bingo and using Numicon.
1st and 2nd Class have been working with Clay
Look at the fantastic clay monsters that 1st and 2nd Class made . They are all so unique and different. The children’s attention to detail when making their creations was phenomenal! Thanks to Ms Moynan, our student teacher, for this special lesson.
Friendship Week in 1st and 2nd Class
1st and 2nd Class had great fun during Friendship Week, playing with 5th and 6th Class and building on friendships within their class. We learned what it means to be a good friend and enjoyed sharing our favourite toys from home with our classmates. Every child in the school contributed to our beautiful friendship display.
1st and 2nd Class – Reading in the Sunshine
1st and 2nd Class have been enjoying our new library books in the glorious sunshine.
Fun races in PE
Teamwork was the order of the day in 1st and 2nd Class during PE. We had to work together to get the hula hoop over our team mates and along the rope, all while racing the other team. Laughter, squeals of delight and cheers could be heard all over the campus!
Look how much our beans have grown!
Our broad bean seeds have really taken off this week! It is amazing to see the daily changes and we are looking forward to planting them outside in the school garden soon.
