Talent Show 2025
The Whole School End-of-Year Talent Show saw some of our 1st and 2nd class students take to the hall with a great mix of singing, dancing, rapping and crafts. Each act brought something different, and it was great to see everyone giving it their all.
1st and 2nd Class School Tour
What a wonderful day we had on our school tour to Castlecomer Discovery Park with our fantastic 1st and 2nd Class pupils! Under the warm summer sun, the children explored nature like real scientists, investigating the health of the river by gently collecting and examining tiny water insects — a hands-on way to learn about clean and polluted water. They also showed great teamwork and bravery on the low ropes course, helping each other balance, climb, and laugh their way through the challenges. One of the biggest highlights was the bouncy net trampoline — a joyful, giggly experience that had everyone leaping through the trees with huge smiles! It was a day full of learning, laughter, and lasting memories. We’re so proud of their curiosity, kindness, and courage!

A Visit from the Fire Brigade 1st and 2nd Class
Yesterday we had a very exciting visit from the firemen from Portlaoise Fire Station. We got to climb aboard the fire engine, spray water and look at some of the equipment they use. They reminded us to check the batteries in our fire alarms and of the number to dial if there is an emergency (999 or 112)
Green Schools Committee visit Laois Chambers
Our Green Schools committee spent a very exciting morning in Laois Chambers with other schools involved the Travel Cluster. We listened to talks, offered our opinions and made plans to get our school family walking, cycling and travelling sustainably to school.
We can’t wait to visit again in the summer term.
